China Top Ranked Universities: China has seen a huge surge in the number of students attending universities (http://www.asiaecon.org/exclusives/ex_read/19). “As of right now, the number of students studying in Chinese universities has reached 25 million, which is an astonishing five-fold increase in only nine years, reported the Chinese Education Minister, Zhou Ji.” The number of top ranked universities in China is increasing. There is also evidence starting to accumulate about the importance of SuperComputing and High-Performance-Computing (HPC) to both university rankings and national GDP.
