Information and communication technology has been providing a more effectively network infrastructure and development platform for the logistics and service operations. In order to meet the needs of consumers, and particularly promote low-carbon economic development process, new types of services also will emerge. LISS’2011 is a prime international forum for both researchers and industry practitioners to exchange the latest fundamental advances in the state of the art and practice of logistics, informatics, service operations and service science. Related domain experts and scholars will discuss academic issues, seize future development opportunities, master the subject developing tendency and exchange the latest research and academic thinking. The theme of the conference is Logistics and Service Science based on the Internet of things.

LISS’2011 will be co-located with the ICEIS 2011, which sponsored by INSTICC (Institute of Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication, Portugal). INSTICC is one of very influential international academic conference series in the world. LISS’2011 is co-organized by Beijing Jiaotong University, University of Reading, Pennsylvania State University and other universities. The Meeting will be held in Beijing.

Through this meeting, participants will share the latest research results and practical experience and make profound exchange on its innovative ideas, have a good grasp of the greatest challenges with the changing times and make a serious consideration of the future. The meeting will inherit the current research of international academic community on the emerging field of service science, logistics and informatics development and applications, which not only focuses on the theory construction, but pay more attention to practical applications of the methods and techniques.

Accepted papers, presented at the conference by one of the authors, will be published in the Proceedings of LISS’2011. Acceptance will be based on quality, relevance and originality. There will be both oral and poster sessions.

All papers in the Proceedings of LISS’2011 will be sent to ISTP for ISI indexing and to EI for EI Compendex indexing. A short list of presented papers will be selected so that revised and extended versions of these papers will be published by Springer-Verlag in a LNBIP Series book. High quality papers will be published in IJSOI (International Journal of Service Operations and Informatics).

Paper Submission Guidelines:
Manuscripts should be electronically submitted at the conference website: http://icir.bjtu.edu.cn/liss2011. All relevant information and the submitted paper must be written in English. Both full research reports and work-in-progress reports are welcome. Authors are required to certify that their paper represents original work and is previously unpublished. Simultaneous submission to any other conference, workshop or journal is strictly excluded. The manuscript must be submitted in the paper format (a Microsoft Word and LaTeX template are available on the conference website http://icir.bjtu.edu.cn/liss2011).
